Ikea here we come!

We seem to meet up with the John and Cheri at Ikea on a regular basis. Last weekend proved to be that time once again.

Blue building goodness:

Ah, a sight for sore eyes

John and Cheri's new ride:

It still smelled new!

Anna hanging out with her homies:

It's so much fun to see the Schmids

Us:

The fam

It's the cheesiest!

Anna enjoys her mac and cheese. Can you find the morsel she is saving for later?

There's a blob above Anna's left ear

Bed Bugs

We recently got a new mattress. While we were waiting for the delivery, Anna and Ollie hung out on the old mattress in the living room.

Ollie couldn't wait to get away

Pink Eye

Arron has just recovered from a nasty cold that brought with it an amazing case of pink eye.
Everyone else was unscathed.

Ewww!

P.S. Arron is relieved that he is no longer just a chin.

Email from Cory

Today I shot a quick email to Cory, a friend of mine from the bank who is currently working in Morocco for the Peace Corps. My email was basic - a couple questions about life in Morocco and a brief update on the happenings in the area. I also attached a few pictures of Anna for fun. In his reply, he made a comment that got me thinking:

"as far as i can tell, Anna's parents are made up of almost entirely of hands, feet and chins... why do you think that is?"

So I started looking at our pictures of her a little more closely. Here's what I found.

I think he might be on to something...

Peanuts and Cracker Jack

Anna's first Cubs game was typical - the wind was blowing in off the lake and the bullpen was lousy. (In case you haven't figured it out, the Cubs lost.)

Anna snoozed early on and woke up during the National Anthem. She fell back asleep shortly after the start of the game and didn't wake up again until the top of the 8th inning. Here's a few highlights.

The view from our seats:

They seem so far away

The rooftop bleachers on some neighboring buildings:

How do you get tickets for those seats?

The manual scoreboard, the ivy, and the right field bleacher bums:

There are people in the scoreboard keeping it updated
View from the wheelchair accessable seating (makes me want to rent a wheelchair next time):Sweet view!
On the outdoor patio (it was warm in the sun but cold at our seats in the shade):
Anna was happy to be out on the patio
In front of the sign:

Now would be the perfect time to tell you the sign said 'Happy Birthday Arron', but it didn't

Anna on her daddy's lap right after her nap:There's still a little sleep in her eyes
Watching the game from the back of the lower deck seats:

Why did they give up another run?

When the game was over, we went to Lilly's house to see her and her parents. It was a great day.

Go Cubs!

Anna's ready for her first Cubs game today! She's on track to learn all about the pain and misery that is being a Cubs fan.

Can we hit the road now?
P.S. Happy birthday, Daddy!
